Times Naruto Surpassed the Masters

Here is a list of times that I noticed Naruto surpassed someone legendary (Jiraiya, Minato, etc.)  All of these are canonical and in the manga.  I am not suggesting that Naruto is generally better than any of these characters (except Kushina and possibly Kakashi) but he did surpass them in these aspects. If I left something out please inform me in the comments.

1. Rasenshuriken - Of course this was going to be on the list.  If I didn't put it on, then surely I would have been mocked into so much shame that it would have been necessary to move to a different PLANET.  Everyone knows Minato couldn't add his chakra nature to rasengan.  We don't know why but know it's true.  Naruto managed to do it so he surpassed his dad and Jiraiya here.



2. Defeating Pain - Sorry, but I must once again don the guise of captain obvious to add validity to this list.  We all know how Jiraiya died.  He was killed by Pain because he chose to stay behind and figure out his secret (Why Jiraiya why?! -sobs-).  This did not just kill off a fantastic character but it also afforded Naruto the opportunity to succeed where his mentor failed.  Naruto defeated pain and turned Nagato into a friend.  It is also the only reason Kakashi, who was also defeated by pain, is alive.  So with this, Naruto surpassed the entire Hidden Leaf Village.  I will admit though, that the intel, and lack thereof, were crucial factors in all 3 fights.

3. Kyuubi chakra mode - I have absolutely no clue how Minato has Kyuubi chakra mode, (being a Jinchuuriki for an amazing total of 5 minutes) but Kushina, as far as I know, never gained it despite being a Jinchuuriki for the majority of her life.  So Naruto surpassed his mom in that regard.


4. Throwable rasengan - Now you might be thinking "huh? you already said rasenshuriken.  Oh he must be running out of things to type."  I might concede to the second sentence, but remember that the rasenshuriken was originally a melee range jutsu like the original rasengan.   His dad, Jiraiya, and Kakashi (he can use rasengan too) all died without having thrown a rasengan of any sort to our knowledge so it's safe assume none of them could do it. 

5. Dodging the Raikage's punch - Yes, yes, I know Minato did it too.  However, Minato TELEPORTED in order to dodge.  While it might not be cheating, it is still technically not DODGING but more or less AVOIDING. He was still 1-upped by Naruto who actually MOVED out of the way.  Also, that was surpassing the Raikage in speed as well since that was his maximum speed punch.
